A Cumulonimbus Wave or a CW is a hybrid natural disaster that includes a thunderstorm and a tidal wave, although a CW is classified as the wave itself. A CW is a gathering of waves upon other waves, or a stacking of waves. These waves commonly occur under a Cumulus Wave Storm (CWS) or a small compact derecho that develops over water. CWS's can develop wind speeds of over 150 mph, winds which blow up waves that pile on top of each other, due to the downdrafts on the front of the storm and updrafts on the back of the storm that steer the waves into each other.
